About Stéphanie Fromentin

Stéphanie Fromentin is a French-American choreographer and performer living in Montreal. She obtained her BFA with distinction in contemporary dance from Concordia University in 2004 and simultaneously started working for choreographers Andrew Tay and Sasha Kleinplatz, both independently and on their collaborative projects. Post undergrad, Stephanie spent five years in Paris working with Martin Kravitz, Compagnie Kalijo, Small Room Dance, and Jeremy Wade (Berlin) while continuing to present her own creations.

In 2014 Stephanie received her Master’s degree from UQÀM (Université du Québec à Montréal), focusing her research-creation on the perception and sensation of present time through the dancer's lived experience. She was recipient of the Pierre Lapointe scholarship for excellence in 2011 and received five teaching positions for undergraduate courses during her studies. Stephanie has presented her own works in Montreal, Toronto, New York, Paris, and Grenoble and has performed for choreographers Helen Simard, Daina Ashbee, Martin Messier, Wants&Needs Dance, Parts+Labour_Danse, Anne-Flore de Rochambeau, Alison Daley and other Montreal and Toronto-based choreographers.
